Peter R. Orszag joined Lazard as a Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Investment Banking in May 2016. He also serves as Global Co-Head of Healthcare and is based in New York.
Prior to joining Lazard, Peter was with Citigroup (2011–2016), where he was Vice Chairman of Corporate and Investment Banking and Chairman of the Financial Strategy and Solutions Group. Before that he was the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (2009–2010), serving in President Barack Obama’s cabinet, and Director of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) (2007–2008).
Before leading the CBO, Peter was a senior fellow in economic studies at the Brookings Institution. He previously served in the Clinton Administration, on both the Council of Economic Advisers staff and the National Economic Council.
Peter is a board member of the Mount Sinai Medical Center, the Peterson Institute for International Economics, and the Russell Sage Foundation, among other boards. He is also a member of the National Academy of Medicine.
